Plattenkorb AMI I dreht nach dem letzten Abspielen und sobald der Netztstecker eingesteckt wird, unendlich weiter.

Sobald der Netzstecker einer AMI I betätigt wird (auch G200, I, J und frühe K-Modelle, Mechaniken 900 - 960), fängt sich der Plattenkorb an zu drehen. Schaltet man dann den Hauptschalter der AMI ein, gehen die Lichter an und es kann gewählt werden. Ist kein Pin mehr gesetzt, dreht sich der Plattenkorb solange weiter, bis die Box vom Netz genommen wird.

Mögliche Ursachen:

1. schlecht eingestellter Scan Schalter: der Scan-Schalter, der den Suchlauf kontrolliert, befindet sich unter dem Popularitätszähler. Um den Schalter zu erreichen, schiebt man den Mechanismus nach hinten und dreht ihn etwas. Der Schalter ist auf der Montageplatte verschiebbar montiert. Er sollte so eingestellt sein, dass das Magazin etwa 1-1/4 Umdrehungen macht, wenn er ausgelöst wird.

2. Wenn das nicht der Fall ist, ist wahrscheinlich die Gummihülse (Bild oben), der den Schaltmechanismus betätigt, kaputt.

As soon as the mains plug of an AMI I is activated (also G200, I, J and early K models, mechanisms 900 - 960), the record magazin starts to rotate. If the main switch of the AMI is then switched on, the lights come on and a selection can be made. If no pin is set anymore, the record basket continues to rotate until the jukebox is disconnected from the mains.

Possible causes:

1. Poorly set scan switch: The scan switch, which controls the scan, is located under the popularity counter. To reach the switch, it is best to push the mechanism backwards and turn it slightly.
   The switch is slidably mounted on the mounting plate. It should be set in that way that the magazine rotates about 1-1/4 turns when it gets triggered.

2. If this is not the case, the rubber sleeve (picture above) that actuates the switching mechanism is probably broken.

Der Plattenkorb einer Continental hört nach dem Zurücklegen der letzten Single nicht mehr auf zu drehen. Was kann die Ursache sein?

Antwort: Vermutlich muss der Scan-Control Riemen ausgewechselt werden. Wenn er ausgeleiert ist, schafft das Plattenmagazin die Endabschaltung nicht.

Austausch:  Der Magazinmotor ist mit der Welle, die den Popularitätszähler antreibt (auf die der Riemen aufgelegt werden muss) durch eine Gummimuffe verbunden. Diese Gummimuffe ist vorne und hinten mit einer Schlauchklemme befestigt. Eine dieser Schlauchklemmen muss gelockert werden. Dann kann die Popularitätszählerwelle ein Stück nach vorne herausgezogen werden. Vorher muss der große Zahnkranz auf dem Popularitätszähler abgeschraubt werden (drei Schrauben), sonst lässt sich die Welle nicht herausziehen.

Nun nimmt man den den alten Riemen ab und legt den neuen zunächst lose über die Welle, diese dann wieder aufstecken und die Schlauchklemme festziehen. Danach kann der Riemen unten und oben richtig eingelegt werden. Abschließend montiert man den großen Zahnkranz wieder, wobei darauf zu achten ist, dass der Popularitätszähler wieder mit der Magazinposition übereinstimmt. Hinweis: Das braucht man nur zu machen, wenn der Popularitätszähler auch verwendet wird, denn bei der Continental wird (im Gegensatz zu den Vorgängermodellen) der Popularitätszähler nicht zur Anzeige der spielenden Platte verwendet. Es sind keine weiteren Einstellungen nötig.

The record magazine of a Continental does not stop after returning the last played record. What might be the cause?

Answer: The scan control belt probably needs to be replaced. If it is worn, the record magazine will not be able to stop.

Replacement: The magazine motor is connected to the shaft that drives the popularity counter (and to which the belt must also be attached) by a rubber fitting. This rubber fitting is fastened at the front and rear with a hose clamp. One of these hose clamps must be loosened. The popularity counter shaft can then be pulled out a little towards the front. However, the large sprocket on the popularity counter must first be unscrewed (three screws), otherwise the shaft cannot be pulled out.

Now remove the old belt and place the new one loosely over the shaft. Then put the shaft back on and tighten the hose clamp. The belt can then be inserted correctly at the top and bottom.
Finally, refit the large sprocket, making sure that the popularity counter matches the magazine position again. Note: This only needs to be done if the popularity counter is also used, as the Continental (unlike the previous models) does not use the popularity counter to indicate the playing record. No further settings are necessary.

Das Spiel des Magazins sollte nicht mehr als 2 - 3 mm sein. Es kann sein, dass der Magazinmotor etwas zu weit vom Zahnkranz des Magazins entfernt ist und dadurch ein zu großes Spiel entsteht. Eine weitere Möglichkeit wäre, das der Anker des Motors ein zu großes Axialspiel hat. Beides ist einstellbar.

Wahrscheinlich ist aber das Zahnrad auf dem Motor eingelaufen. Der Zahnkranz auf dem Magazin ist aus Stahl und nur etwa 2,5 bis 3 mm dick. Dadurch gräbt es eine tiefe Furche in das relativ weiche Zahnrad aus Alu-Zink-Druckguss. Am besten wäre es, das Zahnrad auszutauschen, aber ich fürchte, ein Ersatz wird schwer zu beschaffen sein. Glücklicherweise ist das Zahnrad relativ dick und man kann dafür sorgen, dass der Zahnkranz an einer anderen, noch intakten Stelle, läuft. Dafür gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten: man kann das Magazin z.B. durch Zulegen einer Beilagscheibe etwas weiter nach hinten bringen. Besser ist es aber, das Zahnrad vom Motor abzubauen und eine neue Bohrung für den Rollpin - 3 mm in axialer Richtung verschoben und 90° verdreht - anzubringen.

However, the gear on the motor has probably run in. The sprocket wheel on the magazine is made of steel and is only about 2.5 to 3 mm thick. As a result, it digs a deep groove into the relatively soft gear wheel made of die-cast aluminium and zinc. The best solution would be to replace the gear, but I'm afraid a replacement will be hard to come by. Fortunately, the gear wheel is relatively thick and you can make sure that the sprocket wheel runs in another still intact position. There are two ways of doing this: You can move the magazine a little further back by adding a washer, for example. However, it is better to remove the gearwheel from the motor and drill a new hole for the roll pin - shifted 3 mm in the axial direction and rotated 90°.

Der Plattenkorb einer RI-3 hört nach dem Zurücklegen der letzten Platte nicht mehr auf zu drehen. Ein Aus- und wieder Einschalten schafft keine Abhilfe, der Korb dreht endlos weiter. Wird der Service-Schalter auf "Service" gestellt, bleibt der Korb stehen. Was kann die Ursache sein?

Antwort: Beim Einschalten macht das Magazin einen Indexlauf, um die aktuelle Position des Magazins zu ermitteln. Dann sollte das Magazin stoppen. Die Position wird mittels zweier Lichtschranken ermittelt. Wenn es weiterläuft, ist zu vermuten, dass die Position nicht ermittelt werden kann, weil z. B. eine Lichtschranke defekt ist oder der Stecker auf dem Mechanism Controller schlechten Kontakt hat. Auf dem Mechanism Controller (der schwarze Kasten rechts unten auf dem Mechanismus) gibt es zur Kontrolle dieser Lichtschranken zwei LEDs: eine für die Zählimpulse (muss pulsieren, wenn das Magazin läuft) und eine für die Home Position (muss ein Mal kurz aufleuchten, wenn das Magazin über die Position "00" läuft). Wenn die LEDs in der beschriebenen Weise leuchten, könnte noch ein Kontaktfehler in den anderen Steckverbindungen auf dem Mechanism Controller oder auf dem Control Computer vorliegen. Es ist auch schon vorgekommen, dass ein Kontakt in der Steckleiste gebrochen ist oder dass eine Lötstelle an der Stiftleiste gebrochen ist. Natürlich gibt es noch weitere Fehlermöglichkeiten, aber diese sind am wahrscheinlichsten.

The record magazine of an RI-3 does not stop rotating after the last record has been returned. Switching it off and on again does not help, the basket continues to rotate endlessly. If the service switch is set to "Service", the basket stops. What could be the cause?

Answer: When switching on, the magazine performs an index run to determine the current position of the magazine. The magazine should then stop.
The position is determined by means of two light barriers. If it continues to run, it can be assumed that the position cannot be determined because, for example, a light barrier is defective or the plug on the mechanism controller has poor contact. There are two LEDs on the Mechanism Controller (the black box at the bottom right of the mechanism) to control these light barriers: One for the counting pulses (must pulse when the magazine is running) and one for the home position (must light up briefly once when the magazine passes the "00" position). If the LEDs light up as described, there may be a contact fault in the other plug connections on the Mechanism Controller or on the Control Computer.
It has also happened already that a contact in the connector strip has broken or that a solder joint on the pin header has broken. There are of course other possible faults, but these are the most likely.
 

Der Plattenkorb bleibt nur stehen, wenn eine gewählte Platte gefunden wurde. Ansonsten dreht er endlos weiter.

Antwort:
Ursache 1: Der dafür zuständige Mikroschalter befindet sich rechts neben dem Greifer in unmittelbarer Nähe der Spule für die Seitenwahl. Er sollte nach etwa 1- 1/4 Magazinumdrehungen betätigt werden.

Ursache 2: Es gibt nicht viele andere Möglichkeiten, wenn das Magazin nur dann stehen bleibt, sobald eine gewählte Platte gefunden wurde. Der Motor selbst wird mit dem Detent Switch (der Mikroschalter vor dem Magazinmotor) geschaltet. Wenn dieser nicht öffnet, würde der Motor auch weiterlaufen, wenn eine Platte gefunden und aufgelegt wird. Es muss also die Detent Coil (die Spule daneben) angezogen sein. Diese Spule bekommt nur Strom, wenn der Scan Switch geschlossen ist oder wenn der Serviceschalter in Stellung SCAN geschaltet ist.

Answer:
Cause 1: The microswitch responsible for this is located to the right of the gripper in the immediate vicinity of the solenoid for the A or B side selections. It should be actuated after about 1-1/4 magazine turns.

Cause 2: There are not many other possibilities if the magazine only stops once a selected record has been found. The motor itself is switched with the detent switch (the microswitch in front of the magazine motor). If this does not open, the motor would continue to run even if a record is found and placed on. The detent coil (the coil next to it) must therefore be energised. This coil is only energised when the scan switch is closed or when the service switch is in the SCAN position.
