Zur Kalkulation der
Kosten muss im Vorfeld folgendes bedacht werden:

Die Musikbox
sollte in einer Holzkiste sicher verpackt und auf einer
Palette befestigt werden. Wer
übernimmt dies? Für eine stabile Holzkiste können
schnell US$
200 - 400 anfallen. -
Die Kiste muss
i.d.R. zu einer Spedition, zum Flughafen oder zum Hafen
gebracht werden. Kann dies der Verkäufer übernehmen? Muss
eine Spedition beauftragt werden? Die Kosten für einen LKW
mit Hebebühne sind in den USA recht hoch, er muss explizit
angefordert werden.

Wo wird die
Musikbox in Deutschland (Österreich, Schweiz etc.)
angeliefert? Bei Seefracht nach Deutschland vermutlich
in Hamburg, bei Luftfracht ggfs. der nächste Flughafen.
Muss die Musikbox von dort zum Heimatort angeliefert werden,
entstehen Inlands-Frachtkosten, es sei denn, man kann
die Kiste selbst abholen.

Wer
übernimmt die Zollabwicklung? Macht man es selbst, muss
man einiges an Zeit und Formalitäten einplanen.
Übernimmt das die Spedition, entstehen zusätzlich
Zollabwicklungsgebühren (dennoch empfohlen!).

Der Preis
der reinen See- oder Luftfracht hängt vom Volumen und
Gewicht ab.

Eine
Rechnung für die Einfuhr ist unbedingt notwendig.

Beim Import werden Einfuhrumsatzsteuer (EUSt.)
und Zoll fällig. EUSt. entspricht der Höhe des MWSt.-Satzes. Der
Zoll richtet sich nach dem, was importiert wird und beträgt bei
Musikboxen i.d.R. ca. 5 - 6 %. Es entstehen somit Zollabgaben
und EUSt. Letztere richtet sich nach dem Gesamtwert der
Musikbox: Kaufpreis + Fracht + Gebühren + Zoll.

To calculate the costs in advance the following
should be considered:
The Jukebox should be packed well in a
wooden crate and secured on a pallet. Who does this work? For a solid wooden crate costs of
ca. US$ 200 - 400 are easily possible.
Usually the crate needs to be delivered to
the forwarder, the airport or sea port. Can the seller do this? Is a
forwarder needed to be hired? The costs for a truck with lift gate
which has to be ordered explizit, are quite expensive in USA.
Where does the jukebox be transported to
in Germany (Switzerland, Austria etc.)? Ibn case of sea freight is
it probably the port in Hamburg, for airfreight the next bigger
airport. If the jukebox needs to be transported from there
to your home then another transprt freight will be charged -
unless one picks up the jukebox itself.
Who takes care of the
custom process? If done by oneself some time for paper work and
legal formalities will be required. If the forwarder takes care
of custom, then it gets charged with an extra fee (though it is
still recommended!).

The price of just pure
sea or air freight depends on the volume and weight.

An invoice for the import
is strictly neccessary.

When importing import tax
and duty will be charged. Import tax is equivalent to the valid
VAT rate. Duty depends on the goods being imported, for
jukeboxes it is about 5 - 6 %. This way duty and import tax
occur. Import tax will will be charged for the total value of
the jukebox: Purchasing price + freight + fees + duty
Procedure:
- Jukebox in wooden crate should besecured
on a pallet.
- Wooden crate for transport to Germany
(or another country) being picked up by or delivered to
formwarder.
- Wooden crate gets sent via sea- or
airfreight
- Custom process
- Get the wooden crate or jukebox being
delieverd to your home.
Costs:
- Purchasing price of jukebox
- Sea- or airfreight to Germany (or
other country)
- Duty on purchasing price of jukebox
plus all freight costs incl. fees
- Import tax on all expenses (= value of
the jukebox)
- Eventually delievery to home address (inland
freight)
Example seafreight in US$:
- Purchasing price: US$ 2000
- Seafreight to Germany: US$ 700
- Fees (for seafreight quay dues) etc.):
