Einstellung Aufsetz- und Abschaltpunkt

Adjustment set-down and cut-off

Der Tonarm (einer USC1) senkt sich vor Single ab und die Nadel verfehlt sie. Wenn man den Tonarm von Hand auflegt wird die Single normal abgespielt, aber der Tonarm bleibt am Ende auf der Single liegen. Alle anderen Funktionen des Laufwerks sind ok.

Wenn der Tonarm zu früh aufsetzt, wird er sicher am Ende der Single auch nicht weit genug nach innen geschwenkt, um den Mikroschalter für die Abschaltung zu betätigen. Das nachfolgende Foto zeigt die Schraube für die Einstellung des Aufsetzpunktes.

The tonearm (of a USC1) sets down in front of the record and the needle misses it. If you place the tone arm by hand, the record plays normally, but the tone arm remains on the end of the record. All other functions of the carriage are ok.

If the tone arm sets down too early, at the end of the record t will certainly not be swivelled inwards far enough to activate the microswitch for switching off. The following photo shows the screw for adjusting the set down point.

Sollte der Abschaltzeitpunkt nicht stimmen, eventuell auch das Betätigungsblech für den Mikroschalter etwas verstellen. Bitte darauf achten, dass die kleine Feder links am Mikroschalter richtig eingehängt ist. Sie verringert den Kraftaufwand beim Schaltvorgang, damit der Tonarm leichter in die Auslaufrille gelangt.

If the cut-off time is not correct, you may also need to adjust the operating plate for the microswitch slightly. Please make sure that the small spring on the left of the microswitch is correctly hooked in. This reduces the amount of force required to switch the switch, making it easier for the tone arm to enter the run-out groove.

Ca. 30% der Platten "hängen" nach ca. 2/3 der Abspielzeit. Kann das an der Einstellung liegen oder eher an der schlechten Qualität der Platten?

Ca. 30% of the records "hang" after ca. 2/3 of playing time. Is this a matter of adjustment or more due to poor quality of the records?

Dafür kann es unterschiedliche Ursachen geben.

Die Nadel kann schlecht sein. Das würde sich aber auch durch eine schlechte Tonqualität bemerkbar machen.
Der Auflagedruck kann zu gering sein. Er sollte etwa 5 Gramm sein, eher etwas mehr.
Die Bewegung des Tonarms kann behindert sein, etwa durch ein steifes oder ungünstig verlegtes Tonabnehmerkabel.
Die Feder am Mikroschalter kann fehlen oder zu locker eingestellt sein.
Das Balancegewicht am unteren Ende des Tonarms kann schlecht eingestellt sein. Wenn Du ein leeres Plattenfach wählst und den Strom abschaltest, sobald der Abspielmodus erreicht ist, kannst Du die Einstellung kontrollieren. Der Tonarm müsste durch das Balancegewicht so weit nach innen gezogen werden, dass der Mikroschalter kurz davor ist, betätigt zu werden.

This can be caused by various causes:

The needle can be bad. But this would be notinced by a bad sound quality too.
The tone arm pressure could be too low. It should be about 5 grams, maybe slightly more.
The movement of the tone arm could be limited, e.g. by a stiff or or unfavourably placed pick-up wire.
The spring at the micro switch might be missed or is adjusted too low.
The balance weight at the lower end of the tonearm may be poorly adjusted. If you select an empty record compartment and switch off power as soon as the play mode is reached, you can check the setting. The tone arm should be pulled so far inwards by the balance weight that the microswitch is about to be actuated.
