It holds 24 records and is in a way selectable. The machine has two stacks of 12 records. A mechanism slides a record from one stack to the turntable and plays it. At that moment you can move the other stack up and down with the big knob in front and select a record. The machine was originally hand-wound but is changed to operate with an electric motor. There is no amplifier, the sound comes via a big horn in top of the cabinet.
The needle-changer holds about 800 needles in 40 tubes. After each play the the needle holder is turned 9 degrees and drops a new needle into a special holder that is mounted on the sound-head. The sound-head is one like the Edison phonograph. Needles are the ones you use in hand-wound phonographs.
