Introduced at the Coin Machine Show in early 1936.

An article from 3/1936 describes the sound system:
"Two speakers at the bottom of the wooden tone columns forward the sound upwards against the ceiling, where it gets diffused into the entire listening area. One speaker handles treble, the other the bass notes."

Note Stamann: It seems that Rhythm King was produced with one speaker only.

  1. The cabinet sides and top are made from Oriental Walnut.
  2. The wooden pilasters and top ends are made from English Harewood.
  3. The inlaid panels in the center of the cabinet are made from Rosewood.
  4. The diamond-shape marquetry inlays were made from walnut and placed by hand; there is a border around all 4 points of the tiny diamond inlay indicating they are separate tiny pieces -- not part of a single piece of wood.
  5. The trim around the cabinet is made from American walnut.
  6. The Grill is made from Walnut.
