Ristaucrat wurde 1892 von Gustave W. Ristau (Gus) als Aufstellfirma gegründet: vom münzbetriebenen Klavier bis zum ersten Aufsteller für automatische Phonographen (Regina-Phonograph). Im Jahr 1929 wurde die "Aristocrat" hergestellt. Im Jahr 1935 wurden etwa 300 automatische Phonographen betrieben. In den dreißiger Jahren waren sie jedoch aufgrund der Depressionen gezwungen, die Produktion einzustellen. Ihr erster von Paul Smyth entwickelter Mechanismus wurde an Rock-Ola verkauft. In den frühen fünfziger Jahren wurde ein neuer Versuch unternommen, jedoch ohne Erfolg. Ristaucrat wurde von Vater Gus, seinen drei Söhnen Alfred G., Harold W. und Arnold E. und seinem Schwiegersohn Frank E. Meyer geführt.
Die Modelle "Melodie Vendor" wurden von "Melodie-Vendor Corp. WIS" hergestellt. Export durch die Trans-World Trading Corp. unter der Leitung von Joe Caldron, der auch Leiter der Exportabteilung von Ristaucrat war.

In 1929 they did produce the "Aristocrat". In 1935 they operated about 300 automatic phonographs. But during the Thirties due to the depressions they were forced to stop production. Their first mechanism  developped by Paul Smyth was sold to Rock-Ola. In the early Fifties they made a new attempt, but with no success. Ristaucrat was run by father Gus, his three sons Alfred G., Harold W. and Arnold E. and his son-in-law Frank E. Meyer.

Models "Melodie Vendor" were produced by "Melodie-Vendor Corp. WIS". Export by Trans-World Trading Corp.; Head Joe Caldron who was as well head of the Ristaucrat export division.
