Das Unternehmen gehörte dem Geschäftsführer
Richard (Dick) Warncke und war seit Anfang 1935 als
Großhändler für Münzautomaten verschiedener Hersteller sowie als
Vertriebspartner für Musikboxen von Rock-Ola tätig.
Im Februar 1936 benötigte das Unternehmen mehr Platz und zog von der Broadway
2004 in die neuen Räumlichkeiten in der 1524 Main Avenue um.
Ab Januar 1937 war das Unternehmen in der Region auch als Vertriebspartner für
WurliTzer Musikboxen tätig, führte aber weiterhin das gesamte Sortiment aller
gefragten Münzautomaten. In den späten 1930er Jahren gab es in San Antonio vier
oder fünf aktive Münzautomatenfirmen.
1938 erwarb Warncke gemeinsam mit Harry Iven Drollinger
in Dallas die Automatic Sound Systems of Texas Inc. in Houston, um als
Vertriebspartner für den Südwesten der USA für gewerbliche Plattenspieler und
Produkte von A.M.I. zu fungieren.
Die Santone Coin Machine Co. wurde im November 1940 vom Gründer Richard Warncke
und seinem Geschäftspartner Wilbur J. Bachtel aufgelöst.
Richard Warncke gründete seine eigene Firma, die R. Warncke Co., 121 Navarro Ave,
San Antonio, die bis Mitte der 1950er Jahre aktiv war und 1955 als Gesellschaft
eingetragen wurde. Wilbur J. Bachtel gründete die Coin Operating Sales Co., und
blieb in der 1524 Main Avenue, doch es scheint, dass er nur für kurze Zeit im
Münzautomaten-Geschäft tätig war.
The company was
owned by the daily manager Richard
(Dick) Warncke and was
active from early in 1935 as a wholesale of coin machines from various
manufacturers and a distributor of Rock-Ola phonographs.
In February 1936 the company needed more space and moved from 2004 Broadway to
the new facilities at 1524 Main Avenue.
From January 1937 the company was also distributor of WurliTzer phonograph
equipment in the region but continued to carry a full line of all coin machines
in demand. In the late thirties there were four or five active coin machine
firms in San Antonio.
In 1938 Warncke purchased the Automatic Sound Systems of Texas Inc. in Houston
with Harry Iven Drollinger
in Dallas to be the Southwestern distributor of A.M.I. commercial phonographs
and products.
The Santone Coin Machine Co. was dissolved in November 1940 by the founder
Richard Warncke and the business partner
Wilbur J. Bachtel.
Richard Warncke formed his own R. Warncke Co.,
121 Navarro Ave, San Antonio,
still active until the mid-fifties and incorporated in 1955. Wilbur J. Bachtel
formed Coin Operating Sales Co., staying in 1524 Main Avenue, but it seems he
was only active in the coin machine business for a short period.
