Billboard 30. May 1964: [ ... ] Scopitone, the French cinema
jukebox soon to be manufactured in Chicago, will be shown at an "insiders"
cocktail party and press preview in the Beau Nash Room of the Ambassador West
Hotel Wednesday (27) aftrenoon.
Billboard 8. Aug 1964: [ ... ] A. A. Steiger, president of
Tel-A-Sign, Inc. .... said that the coorporation's prospects were greatly
improved by the acquisitation of 80 per cent of Scopitone , Inc.. Billboard 10. July 1965: [ ... ] The U.S. Model was restled "in classic design to appeal more to American taste," Steiger said. "With all components made in this country, it will be easier to service than the French machine." Steiger set production goals of 5,000 machines for this year; 10,000 units in 1966. He estimated the U.S. market at about 100,000 locations. (This compares with some 450,000 juke box locations.) [ ...]
