Die Western Electric Piano Co. wurde 1924 von Axel F. Larson, Byron C. Waters und Russell Ira Wilcox gegründet. Justus P. Seeburg erwarb schon bald einen Mehrheitsanteil an dem Unternehmen. 1925 wurde Jimmy Johnson als Sekretär eingestellt, 1930 wurde er hauptverantwortlicher Verkaufsmanager.
Aufgrund der schwierigen Lage, in der sich die gesamte Branche für mechanische Musikinstrumente nach dem Börsencrash von 1929 befand, ging das Unternehmen 1933 in Konkurs.
 

Western Electric Piano Co. was founded in 1924 by Axel F. Larson, Byron C. Waters and Russell Ira Wilcox. Justus P. Seeburg bought a controlling part of the company very soon. In 1925 Jimmy Johnson was employed as secretary and in 1930 he became general manager of the company. 
The company went bankrupt in 1933 due to the difficult times for the whole mechanical music instrument business after the Wallstreet Crash in 1929.
