The coin return lever is part of the function to return a coin inserted and gotten stuck in the slug rejector. When pressing the coin return (RO531) on the outside of the cabinet, the coin return lever (RO532) gets activated to open the slug rejector and the coin gets dropped into the coin return cup.
Depending on the slug rejector installed, this extension for the coin return lever is needed.
It is for use with models Tempo 1 and 2, Regis, and Empress.

This extension was burnished to prevent from corrosion.
