The U.S. Route 66 was one of the first non-stop roads to reach the westcoast of the USA. It connected Chicago and Los Angeles and was traditionally a symbol for American freedom.
Today modern highways did replace this old famous road mostly. The left overs sections are an attraction for many tourists, biker and nostalgics.
