WQ100: 100 Selections (1962-66)

charly49 - May 6, 2019: Probably produced for models Lyric and Continental 2/100 with keyboard: XJGB-100, XJHB-100, XJJB-100 and XJKB-100. Those have the records stored in the same way like earlier 100 selection models with manual selection system. The record basket has slots for 100 records in all these models. In the above mentioned models each 2nd record slot is empty.
In 120 selection models AMI H - K the records are stored in two sections of 30 records each, and between them there are two empty sections of 20 slots each. Later Rowe models with magazines downwards convertible to 160 or 100 selections, the records get stored in sections too. If I recall right, there are counterweights which are mounted in lieu of the records on the magazine to keep balance.

Because of the particuliar storage of records in models Lyric and Continental 2/100 (= each second slot is left empty) a different impulse sequence is required for the stepper. Hence WQ100 probably can't be used with later Rowe 100 selection models at all, also not partially.
Downwards for use with 100 selection models and automatic selection systems starting with JLK-100 and JNK-100 of AMI K Series?

Hildegard 12.05.2019: Built parallel to Rowe modell "L" - JAL and JEL? We found wallbox WQ100 listed in magazine "Cashbox" form Sept 29, 1962 to Jan 15, 1966: For the first time with model "L" and stepper CDA, CDD and for the last time for model "O" (JAO) and stepper CFA, CFD.

At first glance, it's identical to the WQ200. Just minor wiring and titleholder changes.

Title holder assembly:
Iif you looks closely there is a single sided titleholder on each end, plus 4 doubled sided titleholders in the center.
There are two empty slots on the right, and three empty slots on the left. The extra slots were for 120 and 200 play wallboxes.

Underneath the page switches:
Four wires disconnected with shrink wrap on the ends can be seen. There are to blank spots on either end of the terminal strip above them. Attaching these wires, along with re-labeling and additional title strip holders, it allows this wallbox to be converted to both 120 and 200 selections with no other modifications.

Single credit unit:
Used in most of the WQ series wallboxes.

Service manuals known so far do not mention any WQ100 at all. Service manual dated 1961 lists WQ120, WQ200-1, WQ200-2, WQ200-3 only and mentions only how to convert WQ200 or WQ120 wallboxes to 100 play. Question: Was this model wallbox not available for the K100 or Lyric when they were new but came out with Cont II 100 play machines??? Or even later jukeboxes which could be converted from 200 to 100 selections?

For use with wallbox stereo speaker SFE (1964) some wallboxes of WQ series had been prewired, older ones could be converted.
The upper instruction glass next to the coin entry shows "Personal Music". The harness wiring was modified and an extra terminal board was installed. The lower socket wasn't needed anymore.

AMI WQ200-5
Inside: Due to the Dual Credit Slug Rejector t
he cashbox is smaller than regular WQ200's, and there is a larger terminal strip for speakers and pricing options. It has a 50 cent rejecter. There is a large capacitor, and some diodes and rectifier near the upper right. Maybe for the bonus relay?

AMI WQ200-5
Gold titleholders: The instruction plate or "shelf" under the titlestrips is also gold colored.

Dual Credit: And it also gives a bonus for 50 cent coins.

Little green button from behind: This pushes on levers connected to the pushbutton banks - probably to allow to release a button pressed by mistake (such as a premium priced selection when  only enough credit is left for a regular selection).
