Boar "Emil"

Product 6 of 107

The wild boar (Sus scrofa) is the ancestor of the domestic pig. They have been popular for hunting and thus vanished from large parts of Europe. Due to escapes from farms, where they are bred for their meat, and articifial introduction into America and Ozeania, the population is quite stable and wide-spread again today.

Wild Boards have bristly fur that protects them against rain and cold. While sows live in groups with their offspring, the boar stays alone most of the time. He only joins the sounders of females during mating time. Boars are easily distinguished from the sows by their tusks. Those are teeth, that grow to tall to fit into the mouth. They are very sharp and serve as tools and for defending themselves in case of danger.

Our plsuh boar "Emil" however is harmless and its tusks safe to play with and pet him. It will enjoy for sure.
