This Ant-Eater (Vermilingua) belongs to the subfamily of tamanduas that lives in Central and South America. It is easily recognized by its white fur and the black parts on belly and back. Its fur is very thick and kinky, so that the ants can not reach the skin and bite.
This is very helpful because ants are most preferred food. For feeding the Ant-Eater stands right in an ant hill, picking into it with its claws and lapping up the ants with its long, sticky tongue. But it is not only ants or termites that it likes, but fruit or honey too, which get licked up as well.

The long and prehensile tail is very handy while climbing, as it is used to keep balance. If the Ant-Eater feels threatened, it stands on its hind legs, with the help of the tail sitting on the ground or grasping at branches to defense itself with the long and sharp claws.

Our little plush ant-eater too is not helpless. But it definitely prefers a safe environment and loves to cuddle into safe arms.
