1554: 100 Wahlmöglichkeiten
Das Innenleben ist identisch mit dem Fernwähler 1555, jedoch nur für 100 Wahlmöglichkeiten ausgelegt. Das bedeutet, dass eine Seite weniger vorhanden ist. In Verbindung mit  'Wallbox Kit 1969' konnte er auf 120 Sel. umgerüstet werden. Aus dem Manual: "If the wallbox Is used with a Rock-Ola 120 selection phonograph, the lock-out circuit is not used, thereby making it a three wire system. An additional program leaf and leaf switch must be installed to accommondate all the selections. (Use wallbox kit 1969)"
Die Scheibe hat das selbstklebende Decal "100 Selection" statt des Aufdruckes "120/200". Die Beschriftung der Seiten ist analog zu den Musikboxen mit Buchstaben und Zahlen.
Passend für Modelle 1484, 1493, 1494, 403 und 430.

This wallbox is almost identical to model 1555, but for 100 selections only. This means one page less inside the wallbox. With Wallbox Kit 1969 an upgrade to 120 selections is possible. Bei dieser 1555 Wallbox wurde ein zusätzliches Relais eingebaut. Dies gehört im Originalzustand definitiv nicht in die Wallbox. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass das Relais mit meinem vierten Kabelanschluss („locked“) im Zusammenhang steht. Bei den Rock-Ola Wallboxen der 60er Jahre wurde, soweit ich weiß, mit einer weiteren „Prüfleitung“ kontrolliert, ob nicht gerade eine andere Wallbox im Restaurant ihre Impulse an der Stepper in der Jukebox schickt. War gerade eine andere Wallbox aktiv, wurde die Wahl an allen übrigen Wallboxen im Restaurant unterdrückt. Erst wenn die Wahl komplett abgeschlossen war, waren alle Wallboxen wieder „frei“ und es konnte eine Wahl getätigt werden. Somit wurde ein „Impuls-Kuddelmuddel“ verhindert und es wurde die Wahl ausgeführt, die auch gewählt wurden. Bei den früheren Rock-Ola Wallboxen war das nicht der Fall. Wurde hier gleichzeitig von unterschiedlichen Wallboxen eine Wahl getätigt, kam mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit nicht die gewählte Scheibe auf den Plattenteller.
Normalerweise wird diese Wallbox nur mit drei Kabeln mit der Jukebox verbunden: „25V“ (entspricht +), „Signal“ (das ist die Signalleitung über die die Wahlimpulse geschickt werden) und „Common“ (die „gemeinsame Leitung“, entspricht – bzw. Masse).

An additional relay has been installed in this 1555 wallbox. This definitely does not belong in the wallbox in its original state. I could imagine that the relay is connected to my fourth wire connection (‘locked’).
As far as I know, the Rock-Ola wallboxes of the 1960s used an additional ‘test line’ to check whether another wallbox in the restaurant was sending its pulses to the stepper in the jukebox. If another wallbox was currently active, dialling was suppressed at all other wallboxes in the restaurant. Only when the selection was completed all other wallboxes were ‘free’ again and a selection could be made. This prevented an ‘impulse mess’ and only the selection that was actually selected was carried out.
This was not the case with the earlier Rock-Ola wallboxes. If a selection was made simultaneously from different wallboxes, it was most likely that the selected record would not be placed on the turntable.
 
Normally, this wallbox is connected to the jukebox with only three wires: ‘25V’ (corresponds to +), ‘Signal’ (this is the signal line via which the selection pulses are sent) and ‘Common’ (the ‘common line’, corresponds to - or ground).
