United Manufacturing Co. was founded in 1942 by Lyndon Durant. Investors had been Harry Williams (who founded Williams Mfg. Corp in 1944) and Sam Stern (aquired William's shares in 1949). Location: 3401 N. California Ave, Chicago.
United did built many shuffles, amusement machines and bowling games. In the late 50s they went also into jukebox production.
Regarding Jack Mitnick, one of the heads in the 50s, famous designer Raymond A. Loewy helped to re-style the cabinet of their models. In Germany United jukeboxes were sold by Heinrich Hecker, Paderborn.
The amusement machine assets of United Manufacturing Corp. were aquired by Seeburg in 1964 which included finished products, patents, equipment, tooling, dies and molds (earlier that year Seeburg also bought the Williams company owned by Sam Stern).
Production in Mexico by Industria Electro Mechanica S.A., Monterrey, contract in 1958.
