Edward M. Liss Had World War 2 not occurred, the 1015 would have been introduced as a 1943/44 model. Because of the war, jukebox manufacturing officially was placed on hold and when it ended in 1945, the W1015 was introduced in the Fall of 1945 as the new 1946 model. Due to its incredible success, production was carried over into 1947. You can tell by looking at the serial number on the back of the cabinet: numbers starting with “1” are first year production and those starting with a “2” are second year production
