Year 1954: 1700 and 1700HF
With model 1700 Wurlitzer introduced its new magazin, called the "Wurlitzer Carousel": 52 records are stored vertically in a carousel, get lifted up from both sides and played vertically, too.
This made only one tonearm needed and the motor turns into one direction only. Only 45 rpm records are being played and Wurlitzer did (almost) bow out 78 rpm records. Both a Standard (1700) and a Hi-Fidelity (1700HF) version were offered.
