We are working since more than one year on a new production of the Cobra cartridges with a 0.7 mil tip.
Some internal components need to be made new again. Tools and molds have to be manufactured.
All this needs longer than expected.
We hope that we can offer some Cobras in about four to six weeks and will have better stock by April or May.

The two-part housing is made from colored through green ABS material now.
We added the "COBRA"-writing which can be found on early cartridges made by ZENITH (see last picture - which is a sample only).

After assembly each cartridge gets adjusted and bench-tested on a set-up with a model 530 amplifier.

Adjust the tonearm pressure at about 5 gram.

Cobras for 45 rpm are used in the below listed models.

  • 1650
  • 1700
  • 1800
  • 1900
  • 2000
  • 2100, 2104, 2150
  • 2200, 2204, 2250
  • 2300, 2304, 2310 (mono)
  • 2400, 2404, 2410 (mono)

They can be used as well in these models when set up for 45 rpm records:

  • 1250
  • 1400, 1450
  • 1500, 1550, 1500A, 1550A
  • 1600, 1650, 1600A, 1650A, 1650AF

I finally found these Cobra units here at Stamann! I was searching for these a really long time for my Wurlitzer 1650 jukebox. They are a bit expensive, but that's normal for these kind of components. I am really happy with them!
