Description

The vivid Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) lives in praks, gardens, broad-leaved and mixed forests with a good deal on oak trees. The littel bird, the only yellow-blue one in Europe, is easy to recognize and hangs head first even on very thin branches. It is located in Europe, part oof Asia, North Africa and the Canary Islands.

With a size of ca. 11.5 cm and a weight of about 10 g Blue Tits can get 5 years old. They are cavity nesters and like birdhouses a lot. To offer them no competition with larger birds like the Great Tit, Sparrows and Starlings the hole should not be larger than 26 - 28 mm.

Of course this offered Blue Tit "Pit" will love a birdhouse. But it also will appreciate a nest in the shelf of a kids room.
