Both pigs and wild boars are of the Suidae family of even-toed ungulates. They are one of the eldest domesticated house animals (for about 9000 years) and today there are many races of pigs. Each one does have its own advantage - and the main puropse is for meat production.
Some pigs are trained as a "beagle" due to their excellent ability to smell, e.g. for finding drugs. Scientistic researches did evaluate that the intelligence of pigs and some primates are about the same. Of course the prejustice of being a stupid animal is refuted! Also other prejustices, e.g. regarding the cleanliness, had been proven wrong withing the years. Quite the contrary, pigs are known as being very clean, social - and in some aspects very close to men.

Probably most of all house pigs are of a rose colour, but there are black ones, e.g. the Large Black as well as rose-black ones, e.g. the Bentheim Black Pied. This is a threatened animal species today but some breeder do re-discover it currently.

"Rosi" could be such a small Bentheim Black Pied. If so it would be (like the real ones) a rarity.
