Dwarf lops belong to the smallest lop races and of course to rabbit breeds (Cuniculus). Most typical characters are the long ears hanging down with hearing side facing inwards (so called horseshoe appearance). Nevertheless lops are born with upright ears which tip over after ca. 4 - 6 weeks.
The typical head shape similar to a male sheep gave these rabbits their German name, the English one refers to their ears.
Dwarf lops were bred in The Netherlands by Adrian de Cock. After 12 years he introduced them first in 1964. They are available in different colour schemes.

This plush dwarf lop is filled with granules. Like real dwarf lops it is very soft and cosy.
