The most known eagle of the United States is the bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus), often called American Eagle, because it is endemic to the North American continent. In modern times the name often is misinterpreted, the part "bald" does not mean featherless, but once just meant "white" – of course referring to its white head and neck. The bald eagle is the heraldic animal of the USA for more than 300 years. Even though, it had almost vanished due to hunt, use of pesticides, and animals shot with lead containing ammunition. Only about 400 breeding pairs survived. Strong protection, the prohibition of hunting, or even owning parts of them they could prosper again.

Eagles (Aquila) have been a fascination for men since ancient times. They are noble and majestic and were often considered a sign of the gods. They represent strength, power, force, superority, and freedom and are often called "Lord of the Air". The native American peoples worship the eagles as spiritual beings, thus they are allowed to own its feathers for their ceremonies. The eagles are believed to carry messages of humans to the gods.

If our bald eagle "George" too has a special relation to the Gods, we cannot say for sure. But we also don't want to exclude anything. Maybe it's best if you try for yourselves?
