Blackbird "Türilü"

Product 89 of 106

The Common Blackbird (Turdus merula) belongs to the family of True Trushes (Turdidae). It is one of the most common birds in Europe. Originally they had been located in forests only. About ca. 150 years ago blckbirds followed humans into the cities, villages, gardens and parks. Male blackbirds are all black except for a yellow eye-ring and same coloured beak. Female blackbirds are more brown only.
Blackbirds from North-Europe winter in South-Europe while those of Middle-Europe usually stay home (sedentary bird).

The remarkable song of male blackbirds is well known. It even inspired famous composers and musicians like Johann Strauß, Heinz Tiessen and Paul McCartney.

Maybe our Blackbirg "Türilü" sings as well as living ones, the German name tells it almost. You need to close the eyes only, imagine yourself an early spring sunrise and listen very well. Try it by yourself!
